This map is a compiled geologic map of the Hyco Shear zone in the vicinity of Hyco Lake, North Carolina. It was prepared, in part, to supplement the 2017 Carolina Geological Society annual field trip guidebook. The map
has been created as a general-purpose map that is applicable to land-related investigations in the earth, environmental and biological sciences. Includes two cross section and brief rock unit nomenclature. Covers portions of Person, Caswell and Granville Counties in North Carolina and Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties in Virginia.
