These maps cover an area approximately 9 miles (north-south) by 7 miles (east-west). The areas covered are determined by latitude and longitude. These maps are also known as 7.5-minute topographic maps, because they cover 7.5 minutes of longitude and 7.5 minutes of latitude.
PLEASE NOTE: These maps are the latest USGS standard topographic maps. The dates vary, but are usually between 1960 and 2000. In 2010, the USGS started a new topographic program that is based on pdf's, so that the maps can be updated more frequently. If you would prefer those maps, please go to store.usgs.gov, and then to Map Locator and Downloader to view those quadrangles.
If you need help locating a map, or need to know the date of a map, please call Mike Medina at (919) 707-9203, or contact him at Michael.Medina@deq.nc.gov.
